America from the Inside Out

How wonderful it is to have your life in order! “Without order it’s just chaos,” like Kramer said in Seinfeld. He was part of a Masonic guild, along with many founders of television and Broadway shows, Hollywood stars, and other significant people in the entertainment industry, including Houdini and the composer of “White Christmas.”

The construction of the Titanic was directed by a Mason. He noticed Tiffany stained glass in the Grand Hall of a New York lodge. He asked Mr. Louis Comfort Tiffany, who was also a Freemason, to make same pieces for the Titanic’s ballroom.

The Freemasons apply their spiritual elegance of order from a personal level, to elections on a political level, to city planning, to career development.

Adolf Hitler was aware of the Freemasons and persecuted them just like the Jews.

There are no accidents. Life carries on as if directed by an invisible conductor. Stone after stone is placed accurately.

I visited a Freemason lodge in New York City.

I knew about the Masons from Tolstoy books. The Russian nobility belonged to that secret society. I had heard about the French parliament selection based on brotherhood rules. The modern design of the new Louvre museum building was chosen despite many who protested because of the Masonic connections of the designer.

From the undisclosed secret of the Egyptian pyramids to the temple of King Solomon in Jerusalem, Masons have kept their strict order of professional union.

Through thousands of years of history, the organization has included representatives of different religions, skin colors, and financial status.

Friday the thirteenth was commemorated as a day of disaster because King Philip killed all Knight Templars due to their growing popularity. The Knight Templars were Freemasons as well.

If you look at Washington D.C. from the air you can see the symbolism of the Masons embedded in the city plan:square and compass, pentagram, triangle.

Due to the tremendous difference in levels of education between members of the brotherhood, Freemasons used a lot of symbols from different religious practices as well as from various sciences:Hebrew and Greek letters, building elements, instruments. This way of communication was easier in the absence of a common language.

Thirty American Presidents were part of a Masonic circle, as well as all the Founding Fathers.

After the first thirteen colonies became states, there was a rule:if you want to start a new state, the first question would be about the presence of Masonic temple in the territory. Most likely there was one, and then the process would be easy. Leadership was unified. The principles of guidance were known.

Just as with constructing a beautiful building, first you shape the stones into regular shapes to fit in to the structure of the strong building. You control your temper, never scream at your kids and wife. You avoid dependency on chemical substances like alcohol and so forth. As for the relationship of a Mason with the woman in his life, he treats her like a queen—this way she treats him like a king in return. So they say, and they claim there has been no divorce in the brotherhood in the last 2000 years. Masons make a choice right from the start.

For his examination, the apprentice presents himself in the hall with the veils closed. As he passes the first set of questions, the first veils are opened, and he stands in front of second set of veils. After answering these questions, the new veil opens and so on…

After the first stage as an apprentice, the Mason become a Master. He has embraced wholesome principles. His stones have such a perfect shape that they ideally fit together with the other stones so tightly that a piece of paper couldn’t fit in between.

The highest level is that of the architect. The architect makes plans for a building. He is perfectly shaped inside and can guide his brothers and make plans to change the destiny of the country:send a letter to the English queen about the wish for independence or gather thirteen colonies to support his ideas.

But the final spiritual goal is for your heart to be lighter than a feather. That means you do good deeds without expecting gratitude. In this way you come back to Earth as a living organism—maybe as a leaf, dog, bird, or human.

Do not hold grudges in your heart. Be like that wise and powerful kung fu master who was attacked by a beggar on a street. The kung fu master’s student was waiting for his reaction to the insults the beggar had screamed in his face. But nothing happened. The master did not start a fight, but just continued walking. They hiked five miles in silence. Then the student asked why the master had not reacted.

And the master replied with surprise: “You carried that weight for five miles? Why do you focus on ugly negativity?”

Columbus was planning to go to India, just as the legend tells us. But for some reason he had Knight Templar crosses on his sails. Columbus used to date daughter of a Mason Master of Spain, who gave him a map of the route to a new land. Masons visited the New World a hundred years before Columbus. It is one of many well-kept secrets.

Masonic rituals are a language without words. They can speak through the lighting of candles, or the sound of a door knocker or a hammer on a symbolic cornerstone.

It is the same language throughout the turbulent stream of time,a beautiful ballet without music.

Whenever arguments between Freemasons and other people arise, instead of arguing they just say: “You just need more light on that subject.”
