Once upon a time
There lived a princess
On the shores
Of a dark blue sea
One sunny day
She caught a
Goldfish
The goldfish begged her
“Please don’t eat me!
I will serve you
Faithfully, with utter devotion.”
The princess made a lot of wishes
They traveled many lands
Ate gourmet dishes
Listened to marvelous music
Saw astonishing wonders
But the princess wanted
The goldfish
To find her a prince
Handsome, brave, rich
On a tall white horse.
That way she could share with him
Happiness upon happiness.
What about troubles?
“I don’t want any troubles.
The goldfish will take care of it.”
And the goldfish brought her
That prince.
The princess looked at him and commented,
“His horse is not that tall
And he is getting bald.”
Gazing at the prince,
The goldfish’s heart brimmed with sadness.
Inside her innermost being
She was in love with him.
The goldfish turned herself
Into a beauty
And married the prince
On the spot
And they traveled to many
Lands overseas
And ate
Exotic food
Met with sages dispensing wisdom.
The bottom line: Very happy, they were
Even being different species.
What about the princess?
The princess was devastated at such
Betrayal
She established a friendship with the Marshfolk
And turned into a witch.
What is this story about?
What grains of wisdom can we grasp?
I wish that you
Will never lose the desire
To explore your opportunities.
